Katherine Collard appointed chief nursing informatics officer
Katherine A. Collard, MS, RN-BC, NP, has been appointed chief nursing informatics officer, responsible for the strategy and implementation of IT systems that directly impact nurses.
Before joining Christiana Care, Collard had a substantial tenure at SUNY Stony Brook, where she held various roles including chief nursing information officer and director of clinical transformation.
At Stony Brook she was responsible for the implementations of various Cerner modules, including nursing documen- tation, CPOE, bar coding scanning and SMART room technology.
Collard is an experienced IT systems implementer and a strong advocate for her nursing colleagues. Her responsibilities also include being a member of the nursing leadership team and providing insight on various technology strategies to facilitate desired nursing business processes. She reports to Terri Steinberg, M.D., MBA, chief health information officer, and Ric Cuming, Ed.D., MSN, RN, NEA-B, FAAN, chief nurse executive. 
Erin Booker appointed vice president for Community Health and Engagement
   Erin Booker, LPC, has been appointed vice president for Community Health and Engagement in the Office of Health Equity.
In this role, Booker oversees the Office of Community Health and
is responsible for developing strategic community partnerships, creating and implementing a portfolio of innovative programs and evidence-based initiatives to advance the health of the community, and overseeing Christiana Care community benefit activities.
With the Office of Health Equity, she works to implement population health strategies to reduce the incidence of disease and improve health outcomes, advance prevention, respond to Christiana Care Community Health Needs Assessment priority areas, and address the social determinants of health and health disparities, including a focus on infant mortality.
Booker served as a Christiana Care corporate director of Behavioral Health since June 2015, maintaining the operational needs of the
Behavioral Health service line, developing and implementing new programming, and creating annual goals and strategies.
She also played a vital role in the operation of Christiana Care’s nationally recognized Project Engage, has been a key stakeholder in the development of Community SOS, an innovative program designed to address substance use disorder, and has been responsible for hospital operations for the Neuroscience Service Line.
Before coming to Christiana Care, Booker was executive director at the Kirkbride Center in Philadelphia where she was responsible for maintaining the organizational and operational needs of that 223 bed acute psychiatric/drug and alcohol rehabilitation hospital. 
  Kevin Kain appointed director of Financial Planning and Operational Analysis
Kevin Kain, MPT, MBA, has been appointed director of Financial Planning and Operational Analysis.
In this role, he will be responsible for leading the annual budget process as well as formalizing the reviews of business plans and concepts and administration of our three-year $100 million cost- cutting goal, and continuing to leverage valuable information from our labor-management and benchmarking tools.
Kain has served as managing organizational excellence consultant and collaborated with the Finance team during the annual operating budget, Workday Planning implementation and labor management reporting support.
His background includes clinical training as a physical therapist. He received a master’s degree in physical therapy from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and an MBA with a health care concentration from Widener University.
He also has been certified through Juran with belts in Lean/Six Sigma process improvement methodology.
Prior to arriving at Christiana Care, his working experience includes direct clinical care, rehabilitation services leadership, executive level operations, and project management. He reports to Chief Financial Officer Rob McMurray, MBA, CPA. 
