Critical Care Nurse Residency Program earns ANCC accreditation with distinction
The Christiana Care Critical Care Nurse Residency Program has been granted formal accreditation with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
The 24-week program integrates educational components with preceptor-led clinical experiences to ease the transition to critical care nursing. It convenes in March and July.
The Critical Care Nursing Residency Program at Christiana Care is only the 15th in the nation to receive accreditation by the ANCC.
“This is the first of our residency programs
to be formally accredited and only the 15th accredited program in the country,” said Christiana Care Chief Nurse Executive Richard G. Cuming, Ed.D., RN, NEA-BC, FAAN.
He commended Thea Eckman, MSN, RN, and Jennifer Painter, MSN, APRN, CNS, RN-BC, OCN, AOCNS, for their leadership and
vision in guiding the program to accreditation. “Once again Christiana Care Health System is recognized for excellence on the national and international stage,” he said.
