LEED-R training course grooms residents and fellows for leadership roles
“Preparing the next generation of physician leaders of our system and community is well worth the effort,” said Allen Friedland, M.D., FACP, FAAP, program director of Christiana Care's Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program and director of the Leadership Excellence Education for Residents/Fellows program (LEED-R) in partnership with Senior Education Specialist Beth Boone of the Institute for Learning, Leadership & Development (iLEAD).
Dr. Friedland and Boone celebrated the conclusion of the 2017 LEED-R program in August, with the graduation of 25 residents representing 13 residency and fellowship programs. Since its inception five years ago, the program has educated 123 physician leaders. The program teaches leadership skills and provides residents and fellows with a formal program learn from executive leaders of Christiana Care. ●
