Junior Board gift of $76,000 to benefit
The Junior Board of Christiana Care has given a generous gift of $76,000 to benefit Christiana Care Health System’s outreach, research and education in Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. The gift represents proceeds from the Junior Board’s 2019 Medicine Ball.

The new funding will enable Christiana Care to support a dedicated coordinator who will help improve awareness and education on Parkinson’s disease and better coordinate care with physicians, nurse practitioners and other caregivers. 

Something new and exciting is just around the corner
For 30 years, Focus has delivered news about Christiana Care to our caregivers and our community. What began as a small, twice-monthly pub- lication for employees evolved over the years to a monthly news source for employees and those we serve.
Today we share more of Christiana Care’s news in real time through our award-winning digital media
including news.christianacare.org and social media, especially Facebook and Twitter. Other ways to communicate faster and better using technology are just on the horizon.
When Christiana Care caregivers received their first issue of Focus in 1989, it was a different world. Mobile phones? Still a novelty. Email and internet? Maybe in science fiction. And social media? Never heard of it.
The Internet and social media have changed our lives. The vast majority of Americans — 96% — own a cellphone of some
kind, and more than 80% of Americans own smartphones. The communications transformation cuts across all demographic lines.
Today, we consume information very differently, and it’s no longer a one-way street — we like and share and comment, making communi- cation and storytelling more interactive and more exciting than ever.
As Christiana Care innovates and embraces new technologies to make a positive impact on the health of everyone we serve, the time has come to take the next leap forward in how we communicate.
With this final issue, we bid a fond farewell to Focus, and we look forward to communicating in ways designed to meet the needs of our caregivers and our community today.
Stay tuned for exciting new developments this fall, including a new community magazine centered on health and well-being. In the meantime, check out news.christianacare.org and the portals, and follow Christiana Care on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube to get our latest news.
Thank you for reading. The next chapter will be a great one. We look forward to sharing it with you! 
