With strategic use of technology, Christiana Care is helping patients make healthy changes in their lives. When using
Express Check-In, for example, patients who don’t have a primary care physician receive a text message with a prompt to
call Christiana Care at 800-428-0911 to find a PCP.
“It’s an example of how technology that begins with a simple transaction can open the door to a long-term connection,” said Dr. Robinson. “People become more engaged in their daily health, creating
positive experiences and better outcomes, leading to greater engagement.”
Patients shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to make appointments and have access to care, said Will Bryant, consumer digital program manager in the Office of Transformation. Technology can remove long-standing barriers within the health care system.
