Barry Dahllof Jr. promoted to vice president, enterprise contracting and payor relations
Barry Dahllof Jr. has been promoted to vice president, enterprise contracting and payor relations.
In today’s dynamic health care environment, as value-based and other payment methodologies are being introduced by governmental payors and managed-care organizations, the work of enterprise contracting and payor relations is growing in importance. In this new role, Dahllof plays an integral part in the important decisions to be made to manage risk. He also focuses on
financial alignment between payor contracts
and the evolving Christiana Care clinical care delivery model. He manages the contracting process including analytics, contract development, negotiations, pricing and compliance. He also is responsible for the facilitation and project planning for certain business development initiatives.
Dahllof has held a succession of increasingly responsible administrative and managerial roles at Christiana Care Health System over the past 20 years. ●
James M. Ellison appointed editor-in-chief, Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry and Neurology
James M. Ellison, M.D., MPH, The Swank Foundation Endowed Chair in Memory Care and Geriatrics, has been appointed editor-in-chief of the Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Ellison, the first endowed chair in Memory Care and Geriatrics at Christiana Care, is renowned as a clinician, researcher and educator in geriatric and adult psychiatry with special expertise in geriatric mood and anxiety disorders, cognitive impairment and dementia. He is board-certified in psychiatry, with added qualifications in geriatric psychiatry.
He is considered an expert in psychopharmacology.
Dr. Ellison was also recently appointed by Gov. John Carney to serve as the psychiatrist representative to the Delaware Behavioral Health Consortium.
Shannon Menei appointed director of Case Management
Shannon Menei, MSN, MBA, RN III, has been named director of Case Management, responsible for leading the case management and social work operations for the acute care hospitals.
Menei joined Christiana Care in 2007 as a staff nurse and has held progressive leadership positions, including co-chair of the hospital-wide Medical Coordinating Council, co-chair of the Unit-based Quality & Safety Council, charge nurse, nurse mentor and nurse preceptor, before moving into a supervisor role. She most recently managed the case management, social work and clinical
documentation (CDI) departments.
He joined Christiana Care in 2015, coming from McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts, where he had served as director of the Geriatric Psychiatry Program, director of the Memory Disorders Clinic, and program director for the Partners HealthCare Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry.
Dr. Ellison earned his medical degree from the University of California School of Medicine, San Francisco. He completed his residency in psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, serving as chief resident in the acute psychiatry service in his final year. He holds a master’s degree in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health. ●
After leading the successful implementation of a fully electronic CDI system she led the efforts to streamline and integrate hospital-based case management and social work operations to optimize care management efficiency and effectiveness.
She received her master’s degree in nursing and a MBA from Wilmington University. She has a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, is a certified clinical documentation specialist and a certified Interqual instructor. ●
