Lois Galinat honored with inaugural Carroll M. Carpenter Impact Award
Lois Galinat, chair of The Friends of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute, has received the inaugural Carroll M. Carpenter Impact Award from the Trustees of Christiana Care Health System.
The newly established Carpenter Award honors a trustee who exemplifies the leadership, service and impact demonstrated by its namesake, Mrs. Carpenter, who served as chair of Trustees from 2010 to 2016.
“Our inaugural Carpenter Award honors a devoted leader, volunteer and philanthropist who always has the best interest of Christiana Care in heart and mind,” said Chair of Trustees Penny T. Saridakis. “With expertise and enthusiasm, Lois Galinat lends big-picture thinking to philanthropy and personally takes on behind-the-scenes efforts in support of our patients and programs.”
The Friends of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center has raised nearly $2.5 million to fund programs in cancer care, research, prevention and awareness since its establishment by Carroll Carpenter in 2002. Most recently, the Friends raised over
$200,000 for the Celebration of Hope Gala in October. Proceeds supported translational breast cancer research at the Graham Cancer Center.
“Lois is a model of Carroll Carpenter’s legacy and continues to advance and strengthen the amazing work of the Friends of the
Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute,” said Saridakis. “On behalf of the Trustees and all who benefit from the work of the Friends, thank you.” ●
