Leadership changes advance The Christiana Care Way
To advance The Christiana Care Way and achieve our organization's strategic aims of optimal health, exceptional experience and organizational vitality, Christiana Care Health System has announced the following leadership changes. In addition to supporting our population health strategies, these changes support an evolving operational structure that ensures Christiana Care’s service lines and essential services operations are fully integrated into our hospitals and employed practices, and that we are well positioned to provide highly accessible, relationship-centered care that is valued by everyone we serve, in our hospitals and in the community.
Neil Jasani, M.D., MBA, FACEP,
has been appointed chief people officer, reporting directly to President and CEO Jance E. Nevin, M.D., MPH. Dr. Jasani provides oversight for both iLEAD and Human Resources, and continues to lead Medical Affairs. Close collaboration between our learning and human resources functions will enhance our ability to grow and nurture our extraordinary people.
Mike Eppehimer, MHSA, FACHE,
has been appointed chief operating officer, Medical Group of Christiana Care. In this role, he is responsible for the Medical Group practices, with a focus on ambulatory care and community care operations. He reports to Ken Silverstein, M.D., MBA, chief clinical officer.
Christopher Cowan, M. Ed, FABC,
has been promoted to senior vice president, Human Resources. He provides leadership for the Human Resources Dept. and reports to Neil Jasani, M.D. MBA, FACEP, chief people officer.
Doug Azar, MHA, has been named senior vice president, strategic clinical integration. In this new role, he works closely with leadership across the health system on ambulatory and access- to-care strategies, and new strategic business opportunities. He reports to Ken Silverstein, M.D., MBA, chief clinical officer.
Sharon Kurfuerst, Ed.D., OTR/L, FAOTA, FACHE, has been appointed chief operating officer of Christiana Care Health Services, responsible for the overall clinical care operations of the hospitals and the Middletown Emergency Department. She also continues to oversee operations of essential services. She reports to Tom Corrigan, MBA, CPA, executive vice president, health services operations, and chief financial officer.
Robert Mulrooney, MBA, PE, has
been appointed senior vice president, Facilities and Services, responsible for leadership of all service-level essential service departments in the health system. He reports to Sharon Kurfuerst, Ed.D., OTR/L, FAOTA, FACHE, chief operating officer of Christiana Care Health Services.
Robert McMurray, MBA, CPA, has been promoted to vice president of Finance and Supply Chain, and corporate controller. His expanded role includes oversight of budgeting, financial reporting and accounting, as well as procurement, sourcing, contracting, logistics and supply storage. He reports to Tom Corrigan, MBA, CPA, executive vice president, health services operations, and chief financial officer. ●
