Epic Systems expert will guide ChristianaCare’s implementation of electronic health record system

Robert Hartmann, MBA, has been appointed vice president, Electronic Health Record Transformation, at ChristianaCare.
In this role, Hartmann will be responsible for the successful launch and ongoing support of ChristianaCare’s new electronic health record (EHR) and revenue cycle system, powered by Epic Systems software. Hartmann will develop a strategic plan that supports both technology needs and patient care goals, choose new tools to help medical staff work more smoothly and encourage continuous learning about the system. He will oversee EHR compliance, integration and operations.

Hartmann most recently served as director of Enterprise Systems at Tegria, a global health care consulting and services company, where he managed Northwell Health’s $1.2 billion Epic Transformation Program — one of the largest Epic implementations in U.S. health care history.
Before joining Tegria, Hartmann spent nearly a decade at Epic Systems, including five years as director of implementations. There, he oversaw clinical and revenue cycle projects, managed budgets up to $30 million and led teams of over 100 staff members serving health care organizations across the country.
Hartman earned his Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Vanderbilt University.
