North Bay Medical Associates joins ChristianaCare’s network of primary care practices

North Bay Medical Associates, PA, specialists in family and internal medicine with two locations in Cecil County, Maryland, and two in New Castle County, Delaware, has joined ChristianaCare’s award-winning network of primary care practices.

With the addition of the North Bay practices, ChristianaCare now operates 22 primary care practices throughout Delaware, Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Eastern Maryland.

“We are thrilled that North Bay Medical Associates is joining ChristianaCare and our primary care network,” said Cydney Teal, M.D., physician executive, Medical Group of ChristianaCare. “This partnership will further strengthen ChristianaCare as the preferred provider of high-quality primary care services in our community.”

“Our partnership with ChristianaCare will greatly benefit our patients and connect them to one of our region’s most advanced health care systems, providing them with easy referrals to a wide range of truly exceptional health care services,” said Sheelmohan Sachdev, M.D., lead physician of North Bay Medical Associates.

North Bay Medical Associates’ four practices consist of five doctors and three nurse practitioners. Its location in People’s Plaza in Glasgow, Delaware, will close and the practice doctor, Timothy O’Donnell, M.D., and patients, will transition to nearby ChristianaCare Primary Care at Springside. In addition, the North Bay practice at 126 East High Street in Elkton, Maryland will relocate to the Medical Professional Building on the Union Hospital campus in Elkton.

The seamless transition to ChristianaCare will enable the North Bay practices to continue to provide optimal primary care services, including physical examinations, preventive health screenings and immunizations, chronic disease management and care for acute illnesses. Patients of ChristianaCare’s primary care practices can access a secure patient portal that helps them to be actively engaged in their health.

In November 2019, ChristianaCare’s primary care practices were re-awarded certification by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient-Centered Medical Home. The patient-centered medical home model of care puts patients at the forefront of care, improving quality and the patient experience and increasing staff satisfaction while reducing costs.

All ChristianaCare primary care practices are accepting new patients and are providing safe care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Practice locations offer a clean, welcoming environment where patients can build a trusting relationship and seek medical advice for problems large and small.
