Sandra A. Weiss, M.D. — Cardiologist

Sandra A. Weiss, M.D. comes to Christiana Care Center for Heart & Vascular Health from the University of Chicago Medical Center.

She received her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in 2000, and she is a 2004 graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Weiss completed her residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. Her post-doctoral training includes fellowships in both interventional cardiology and cardiovascular medicine at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

Dr. Weiss is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has certifications from the ACLS American Heart Association and the BLS American Heart Association. She is a member of professional societies that include the American College of Cardiology, the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention, and the American College of Physicians.

Among her numerous awards and honors are the Internal Medicine Departmental Award and the American Medical Women’s Association Award. She received both from the University of Chicago in 2004.

She has recently been actively involved in research of the coronary stent system in patients with de-novo coronary artery disease, as well as other research projects. Dr. Weiss has published several peer-reviewed articles and abstracts.
