ChristianaCare Primary Care and Women’s Health Now Open at Kennett Square, Pa.

Residents in Southeastern Pennsylvania have new options for care with the opening of ChristianaCare Primary Care and Women’s Health at Kennett Square.

With the addition of the practice, ChristianaCare’s award-winning primary care network now operates 23 practices throughout Delaware, Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Eastern Maryland.

“We’re excited to provide families in the Kennett Square area with high quality, affordable primary care,” said Glea Mazzuca, D.O., clinical lead of the practice. “Our practice has expertise to provide care to the whole family, including children and adults of all ages, and women’s health through all stages of life.”

ChristianaCare Primary Care and Women’s Health at Kennett Square offers:

  • Family medicine.
  • Pediatrics and well child checks.
  • Annual physicals and sports physicals.
  • Immunizations and minor outpatient surgical procedures.
  • Well woman visits including annual pap smears and long acting reversible contraception options.
  • Obstetrics and gynecology care.
  • Diabetes management.

Patients of ChristianaCare’s primary care and women’s health practices can access a secure patient portal that helps them to be actively engaged in their health.

“Patients who choose a ChristianaCare primary care practice benefit from the advantages of being connected to Delaware’s largest, most advanced health care system, including electronic medical records and easy referrals,” said Cydney T. Teal, M.D., CPE, FAAFP, FACP, chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at ChristianaCare. “Their primary care provider becomes their ‘medical home’ — the place where patients can build a relationship with their health care provider and seek medical advice for problems large and small.”

In November 2019, ChristianaCare’s primary care practices were re-awarded certification by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient-Centered Medical Home. The patient-centered medical home model of care puts patients at the forefront of care, improving quality and the patient experience and increasing staff satisfaction while reducing costs.

“Because ChristianaCare is a regional center of excellence in women’s health, women at all stages of life can be confident they will receive exceptional, personalized care at our new practice site in Kennett Square,” said Matthew Hoffman, M.D., MPH, FACOG, Marie E. Pinizzotto, M.D., Endowed Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at ChristianaCare. “Close proximity to primary care providers at the location will integrate health and support services in seamless ways.”

All ChristianaCare primary care and women’s health practices are accepting new patients and are providing safe care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Practice locations offer a clean, welcoming environment where patients can build a trusting relationship and seek medical advice.
