Susan Perna appointed vice president of Risk Management

Susan Perna, MS, BSN, RN, CPHRM, has been appointed vice president of Risk Management.

In this role, she has responsibility for risk management, claims reporting and coordination of the comprehensive insurance program.

Perna has worked at ChristianaCare for 35 years, starting as a nurse in Neurosurgery, where she became nurse manager prior to moving to the Legal/Risk Management Department in 1996. She was appointed director of Risk Management in 2008.

She holds a BSN and MS from the University of Delaware and completed the Advisory Board Fellowship Program. She is a member of  the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management.

She reports to Jennifer Schwartz, Esq., chief strategy officer and general counsel.
