Sarah Fishman Goncher appointed deputy general counsel, Operations

Sarah Fishman Goncher, Esq., has been appointed deputy general counsel, Operations.

In this role, Goncher will assist ChristianaCare leadership and caregivers, addressing legal issues involving patient care, medical staff, employee relations and other matters related to the operations of the health system.

Prior to joining ChristianaCare she was a deputy attorney general and unit head of the Health Law Unit, Civil Division, of the Delaware Department of Justice, where she managed a team of attorneys representing the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, the Delaware Department of Services for Children Youth and their Families, and the Delaware Department of Correction.

She also previously worked as a staff attorney at Community Legal Aid Society, Inc.

She received a bachelor’s degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a J.D., cum laude, from the Charles Widger School of Law, Villanova University.

She reports to Jennifer Schwartz, Esq., chief strategy officer and general counsel.
