Kristen Foulk appointed nurse manager, Surgical Critical Care Complex

Kristen Foulk, MSN, MS, RN, PCCN, NE-BC, has been appointed nurse manager of Christiana Care’s Surgical Critical Care Complex (SCCC). She retains her role as nurse manager of the Transitional Surgical Unit (TSU).
Foulk assumes her new role with 19 years of nursing experience at Christiana Care in a variety of settings, including oncology, case management, medical/surgical, surgical stepdown and the Emergency Department. In her new role she will be responsible for ensuring and advancing quality nursing care in both the SCCC and TSU at Christiana Hospital.
As nurse manager of the TSU for five years, Foulk led her nursing team to receive the American Association of Critical Care Nurses’ Beacon Award for Excellence and drove multiple Christiana Care award-winning projects. She has been recognized for Excellence in Nursing Leadership and as a Delaware Top Nurse.
Foulk has participated in quality and safety initiatives, transformation projects and process improvements in patient handoffs, safety and outcomes across Surgical Services and units including Telemetry, the Emergency Department, Surgical Stepdown and Intensive Care.
She has published and presented the results of her work nationally and is an active member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, American Nurses Association and American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Foulk earned a Master of Science in nursing and Master of Science in management, focused on health care administration at Wilmington University. She is certified in Adult Progressive Critical Care Nursing and as a nurse executive.
She reports to Kimberly Talley, MSN, CRNP, RN, CNML-BC, FABC, LSSGB, vice president of Patient Care Services, Surgical.
