Eric C. Smith appointed corporate director, Digital, Office of Transformation

Eric C. Smith has been appointed corporate director, Digital, Office of Transformation.
Smith is responsible for developing and expanding the infrastructure and tools necessary to leverage digital assets as innovative tools in pursuit of Christiana Care’s strategic objectives.
His areas of focus include consumer digital technology, working with Joanne Brice, M.D., medical director, Consumer Initiatives, in support of telehealth initiatives and developing emerging digital technology, such as robotic process automation and artificial intelligence.
He reports to Edmondo J. Robinson, M.D., MBA, FACP, chief transformation officer and senior vice president, Consumerism.
Smith was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware and joins Christiana Care after a 25-year career in information technology. Before joining Christiana Care he spent 20 years with DuPont working both domestically and internationally, most recently as the IT chief technology officer, where he had accountability for enterprise architecture, infrastructure services, strategic vendor management and emerging technologies.
Smith is a Six Sigma Black Belt, a distinguished certification in process optimization. He received his B.S. in computer science from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania, where he was a member of an NCAA Championship soccer team.
