Michael Puchtler named vice president of Patient Experience

Michael Puchtler has been named vice president of Patient Experience at Christiana Care.
Puchtler has served as interim vice president since November 2017. As vice president, he is responsible for leading the organization in the development and execution of strategies to positively impact the patient, family and guest experience across the continuum of care.
These strategies include fostering a culture of relationship-centered care, deploying innovative tools and work-system enhancements to enable breakthroughs in behavior change, and overseeing regulatory requirements including experience surveys and patient grievances. He leads Visitor & Volunteer Services, Patient Relations and Patient Experience program management resources, and reports to Chief Officer of Strategic Communication and Experience Drewry N. Fennell, Esq.
Puchtler has more than 16 years of client service and health care experience working with a variety of health care organizations in the Philadelphia and the mid-Atlantic region. Throughout his career he has been involved in many initiatives spanning patient and employee engagement, culture development, workshop design, and facilitation and strategic planning.
He joined Christiana Care in 2017, coming from an executive post at Vynamic, where he built and led the hospital and health system practice and co-founded the company’s Healthcare Roundtable. Prior to that he was a senior manager at Accenture for more than eight years.
He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Delaware, where he continues to serve as a volunteer career mentor.
