More than 50 Christiana Care employees, families, cancer survivors and friends took part in the 24th annual Susan G. Komen for the Cure Philadelphia’s Race for the Cure on Mother’s Day, May 11.

Race for the Cure, a 5K run/walk event, drew more than 30,000 participants from 15 counties in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. It has become a Mother’s Day tradition, with people of all ages joining in the movement to fight breast cancer.

Christiana Care, a health care sponsor of the walk/run, is a recipient of Susan G. Komen for the Cure Philadelphia grants. The grant helps to support Christiana Care’s Pink Ribbon Program, which helps uninsured women complete their mammogram screenings.
