Curious kids find lots of ‘awesome’ at Surgicenter special event

The Perioperative Professional Nurse Council gave an insider’s perspective of the operating room to curious children at an open house October 2 at the Christiana Surgicenter. Nearly 300 Christiana Care employees and their children, outfitted in scrubs and masks, toured the Surgicenter, with perioperative nurses and staff as their guides. They received hands-on education about surgical tools, monitors and other “cool stuff” for an experience more than one child called “awesome.”
