Christiana Care employees recognized at Delaware HIV Consortium event

Representing Christiana Care at the Delaware HIV Consortium WOW Awards are Mary Kay Sullivan, Susan Szabo, M.D., Christiana Care HIV Program medical director, Arlene Bincsik, RN, HIV Program director, and Mark Manchen.

Two Christiana Care employees received awards for contributions to the care of patients with HIV and AIDS at the Delaware HIV Consortium’s seventh annual WOW Awards held on Friday, May 6.

Mark Manchen, a social worker in Christiana Care’s HIV Program in Wilmington, was recognized with the Impact Award for helping patients fight discrimination and isolation plus gain access to proper physical and mental health care.

Mary Kay Sullivan, an adult nurse practitioner also in Christiana Care’s HIV Program in Wilmington, received the organization’s Ryan White Award for clinical excellence. Sullivan helps clients achieve and maintain an optimal level of good physical and mental health by creating and monitoring a wellness plan.

Since 1989, the HIV Program at Christiana Care has been has been the major care provider for people with HIV/AIDS throughout the state of Delaware, providing care to 65 percent of the people who are HIV-positive and accessing medical services.
