Violinist Emily Plourde performed a concert at the Center for Heart & Vascular Health as a thank-you for the care her father received.

Emily Bukay Plourde still mourns her father, Richard Bukay, who died last year after suffering a heart attack.

In November, Plourde, who majors in violin at West Chester University, Pa., and graduates this month, honored her father’s memory by filling the lobby of Christiana Care’s Center for Heart & Vascular Health with musical compositions by J. Massenet, V. Monti, and J.S. Bach.

“My father received excellent care here,” says Ms. Plourde. “I wanted to perform a recital at the Center for Heart & Vascular Health at Christiana Hospital to remember my dad and thank the staff for caring for him in his final days.“
