Carvella Jackson wins December 2010 Jefferson Award

Carvella Jackson, a recruiter in Christiana Care’s Human Resources Department, winner of the Christiana Care Jefferson Award for December 2010, has spent the last four years breathing life into Awakening House, a transitional home for women who are turning away from an unhealthy lifestyle toward becoming positive, productive citizens.

Jackson manages the house, interviews new participants and assists the resident women with locating the necessary resources, such as rides to appointments, clothing or meals, to keep moving forward. She also participates in numerous fundraisers and events that help the community.
